Professor Röder has been with UE since 2017 and as of 2019 is the Program Director for the Bachelor Photography Program. Professor Röder has an interdisciplinary approach to photography as she has studied Media Arts and Design and has earned a Ph.D. in the field of Artistic Research. Next to her artistic activities she holds a Ph.D. in the field of artistic research. Her research focus lies on performative strategies in contemporary photography in the context of contingency. Her photographs has been shown in international festivals and museums, such as the GoaPhoto Festival in India, the European Month of Photography in Berlin or the Format Festival in Derby. Nina’s articstic focus lies within exposing hidden and unconscious structures or mechanisms of biographical narratives. In her work she combines aspects of the theatre, stage and performance with the time based image space of photography.
